On Sunday we went back to Mexico City to El Museo de Antropologia. It was amazing. Here is the tomb of an infant during the Aztec days.

This is the tomb of an adult.

This is the remains of someone who died in this position obviously.

This is part of the Mayan display.

Also Mayan.

An Aztec headdress.

A close up of a recreation of what the markets were like for the Aztecs. Here they are selling vegetables, and not much has changed in Mexico to the present day.
A larger version of the market.
The most exciting part of the museum......the ORIGINAL Aztec calendar. The boys and I were very excited to have seen this in person. They say its original name is the Stone of the Sun.

An alter where human sacrifices were performed. Not just decapitating to offer the blood to the Gods, but also limbs, genitalia, and pulling out the heart. We saw the original knives used to "gut" a person and pull their heart out.

A shot from afar of the Aztec calendar.

A really pretty fountain in the middle of the museum.

Our group entering.

The sign, lol. I guess this museum is one of the most famous in the world.
